Unofficial Spokespeople training ride – Sunday April 11th, 10am to 1pm.
The first ride for West Seattle Spokespeople will be an unofficial training ride for any Sustainable West Seattle members that would be interested in helping with conducting this ride or would like training for transportation bicycle us.
Bill Reiswig (SWS co-founder) and Stu Hennessey (SWS member and Alki Bike & Board owner) could use some extra rider support as we escort folks who would like to become bicycle transportation savvy. Long time bicycle commuters Bill Reiswig and Stu Hennessey will be leading this pack.
The ride is scheduled for Sunday April 11th, 10:00 am from Alki Bike and Board, 2606 California Ave. SW. The ride length is 6 miles with an alternative route selection focus, riding the California Avenue business corridor to Morgan Junction with a stop at the West Seattle Farmers Market.
The pace will be leisure between 10 and 15 mph and the terrain will be “some hills”. SWS members who are interested in helping future Spokespeople rides will be educated in sweep riding, corner control and helping with rider technique. Heavy rain will cancel this ride.
