Canning, Cooking, Tilling, Harvesting Classes Offered

Community Harvest of SW Seattle is partnering with Seattle Tilth to offer some wonderful hands on classes, on this side of the bridge! Classes will be at St. James Annex – at 9421 SW 18th. View the entire list of classes In addition we will be offering some non-Tilth classes. Upcoming classes are all on Saturdays:

  • Cooking Seasonally From Your CSA –  January 30, 2:00 – 4:00 pm
  • Indoor Seed Starting with Tilth –  February 20,  10:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • Traditional Preserving with Lactic Fermentation – February 20,  10:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • Fruit Tree Pruning – February 27, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Several spaces will be reserved in each class for participants who would like to volunteer in place of paying the class fee.

Community Harvest is also exploring the idea of a Community Orchard in West Seattle.  Just Imagine – Abundant fruit trees and native edibles…a diverse habitat for wildlife… a pleasant place for people to gather…a demonstration garden of trees and vines which thrive in our climate… classes on fruit tree horticulture and preserving foods…Yes, this could be possible in West Seattle.
