Citizen’s Climate Lobby

Citizen’s Climate Lobby
A national non-partisan citizen’s group, the Citizen’s Climate Lobby, is creating a local chapter here in Washington’s 7th Congressional District, and plans to focus on developing relationships with congressional representatives and the local media through letters, phone calls, and meetings. Here’s a blurb from their flyer:
…”As the Citizen’s Climate Lobby, our goal is to generate the political will to address climate change. We do this by engaging citizen’s groups to lobby for legislation at the national level. Working with Phinney-Greenwood CCAN, we are starting a local chapter of CCL here in Jim McDermott’s district. Our work here is particularly important because of Representative McDermott’s appointment to the House Ways and Means Committee, which is in charge of taxes.”…
To get involved, please contact Anne Engstrom at (206) 784-1850, achelan@aol.com or Guillaume Mauger (925) 784-7156, guillaume.mauger@alumni.ucsd.edu.

New West Seattle P-Patch

A location for a new P-Patch has been approved for West Seattle. The project is in its beginning stages, and the P-Patch has not yet been created. The new site will be located near the West Seattle Christian Church near the Junction. The project manager is in need of volunteers to help build the plots. Volunteers will have a better chance of getting a plot, especially if they are WS residents. Please e-mail Aaron (wscc.grounds@hotmail.com) if you are interested, and include “WSCC P-Patch” in the subject line.
