Occupy West Seattle will be holding a general assembly meeting Saturday, April 14, from 2:00 pm through 5:00 pm at the West Seattle Library (Admiral District) at 2306 42 Ave. SW.
The agendas for these meetings will include preparation for the actions listed below.
- April 17 Tax Day Protest: Occupy West Seattle will meet in front of Key Bank at 4:00 pm, on Tuesday, April 17 and then move to Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Chase Bank, and the Post Office, demonstrating and distributing information. We will protest how our individual taxes are spent (about 50% on war), and how the banks fail to pay their fair share of taxes.
- April 29 May Day Protests: Occupy West Seattle will meet Sunday, April 29, at 10:00 am in front of the Junction Wells Fargo, across from the Market, at 10 am. We will distribute information about Occupy Seattle May Day activities, the Immigrant Rights march on May Day, Wells Fargo’s connection to the detention center, and Occupy West Seattle.
- Tuesday, May 1: We will meet at the Junction and together take a bus to the downtown Occupy Seattle May Day events and the Immigrant Rights March. (Additional details not yet available.)
Occupy West Seattle is local neighbors acting locally and nonviolently to fundamentally transform our political and economic systems to meet the needs of all the 99% and our environment. We stand in solidarity with Occupy groups throughout Seattle and around the globe.
