Sustainable Yard, Native Plants, Rain Gardens Workshop @ Burien

Join the Environmental Science Center and Sustainable Burien for a free workshop on “Your Sustainable Yard: Rain Gardens, Native Plants and More,” Sunday, March 18, 2012, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Burien Library Multipurpose Room.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn all about creating sustainable and rain-friendly landscaping features! This free workshop will focus on environmentally conscious yard care and rain garden design including construction techniques, plant selection, soil texture, cost considerations and maintenance.

Guest speakers will include a special guest speaker from Stewardship Partners, Lori Beehner from Environmental Construction Inc., Franziska McKay from People for Puget Sound as well as Michael Stein- Ross and students from St. Francis of Assisi.

All participants will receive a free native plant.
