The Seattle Library is hosting a new series on self reliance. The audience is children, teens and adults.
Of interest to SWS members is a course at the The West Seattle Branch — Learn to preserve the summer’s bounty and stretch your grocery dollars by canning your own produce with Susan Helf. The class will take place on October 17, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the West Seattle Library, located in Admiral District between the Metropolitan Market and California Avenue SW.
Learn about canning equipment, how to can safely, resources for recipes and instruction and recommended tips from a pro. A demonstration of water bath canning with seasonal fruit will be included in class.
This workshop is presented in partnership with The Seattle Free School. Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required.
