Seattle’s Department of Planning and Development has been working on the West Seattle Triangle area (area bounded by 35th Ave. SW, Fauntleroy Way SW, and SW Alaska St.) with community and area business leaders for the past two years. They have reached a point where:
- DPD is working with SDOT and other departments on final review for the Streetscape Concept Plan. DPD will be updating a few graphics in the Urban Design Framework (which contains the Concept Plan as Chapter 4), and forwarding the document to the community in the next couple of weeks. Meanwhile, the draft document is still available on the project web site: www.seattle.gov/dpd/Planning/WestSeattleTriangle/
- The City Council has scheduled a public hearing on proposed zoning and Land Use Code amendments. The report outlining the proposal is available by clicking here.
The City Council hearing on the Triangle zoning will be held in West Seattle October 11, beginning at 6:00 pm in the West Seattle Senior Center, 4217 SW Oregon Street.
