The September Solar Washington Meeting will happen Monday September 12, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Seattle REI, 222 Yale Ave N.
This month’s topic is
- Status of Solar Energy Technologies: an overview of applied technologies in Washington. And what is it that we can expect to see in the next five years?
Technologies are continually changing, and this is particularly the case for solar energy. Whether you work in the solar industry or are merely curious, it is important to keep track of what is happening. The challenge has often been to separate what can be expected to be applied, and what is merely media “noise.”
To bring clarity to this important issue, Solar Washington is proud to present Dr. Hugh Hillhouse, Rehnberg Chair Professor of Chemical Engineering & The Institute of Molecular Engineering and Science from the University of Washington.
Professor Hillhouse will discuss the current state of commercial solar technologies, and what emerging technologies we may see in Washington within five years. He will also give an overview as to what is happening in this important research at the University of Washington. We are expecting a lot a questions from the audience, and time will be reserved for this following his presentation.
In addition, we will hear the latest from iTek Energy regarding the availability of their Made-in-Washington solar module and inverter development (see annoucement below), as well as from the City of Seattle on a small business loan program.[mappress mapid=”424″]
