Burien’s ArtsAGlow Lantern Festival & Procession is this Saturday, September 10, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm and is free. The location is Dottie Harper Park, 421 SW 146th Street in downtown Burien.
This is a magical evening in the forest and there will be lantern art and performers around every corner, face painting, tea leaf reading, and tea and treats to be sampled. Make your own lantern and join the procession at dusk (8ish)!
And a special surprise performance after the procession…don’t miss it! Community Procession at Dusk! Bring bells to play as you walk to make beautiful music!
The evening’s schedule of activities:
- 5:00-6:15 pm Harp Music by Jini O’Flynn
- 6:30-8:00 pm Magical Strings
- 8:45-9:15pm Lucia’s Neare’s Theatrical Wonders
- Lantern Making
Lanterns can also be made earlier that day at Kids Day at the Burien Fire Station, or make a balloon lantern at home! You can also make a lantern from glass jars or plastic water bottles, pie tins ,paper bags, tin cans…you can recycle and be creative! Light your lantern with glow sticks or battery operated candles!
