SWS Community Forum: Urban Foraging in West Seattle

Ever wondered which “weeds” were safe to eat?  Ready to take eating locally to the next level?  Join us for an Urban Foraging Walk with Stewart Wechsler, local plant expert.  You’ll be introduced to the growing urban harvesting movement while we tour through beautiful Lincoln Park, learning which plants make a great snack and which plants to avoid.  The walk will focus on respectful and safe harvesting.

The group will meet at the Lincoln Park’s North Parking Lot (At SW Monroe St. & Fauntleroy Way SW).  Be sure to arrive on time to ensure you can find the tour!

Hello – I will be unable to leave work for this upcoming foraging class in Lincoln Park, but I was wondering if you plan to have any more foraging classes or events like this in the future. I would love to attend one. Thanks.

The Seattle Urban Gathering community has a Facebook page dedicated to urban foraging. We maintain a forum to discuss local plant & mushroom gathering practices and we regularly list opportunities for engaging with the Seattle community of foragers, gleaners, and gatherers. We also post about classes and workshops for learning about wild plants and fungi.
