Help Community Harvest of Southwest Seattle Glean Fruit

Please join as they gear up for the summer’s fruit tree harvest cycle!  Since 2007, Community Harvest has been mobilizing volunteers to make use of the abundance growing in our own backyards. Many local residents have highly productive fruit trees, yet are unable deal with the bounty of their trees. Instead of allowing this fruit to go waste, they harvest it for distribution to our local foodbanks so they too can enjoy fresh local fruit. CHoSS so far has harvested and distributed over 13,500 pounds of local fruit thanks to a very generous community!

CHoSS welcomes new and past participants – both tree owners and volunteers!  There are several dates to sign up for but help is most needed in late August and early September with our unusually long spring affecting ripening cycles.  To volunteer your tree:  http://gleanit.org/treedonorform.htmland/or  or to volunteer, please email melissa@gleanit.org or sign up via the volunteer form here:  http://gleanit.org/project_harvest.html.  Most gleaning work parties are held in the early evenings and on Sunday afternoons for your convenience.  See you in the field!
