Sustainable West Seattle’s Monthly Community Forum for April takes us into the realm of fascinating permaculture projects happening right here in West Seattle and how you can be involved.
And, we’re back at the Lodge at Camp Long this month.
Art Donnelly of Seachar.org will explain how his group is testing how “biochar” can be produced in clean burning efficient stoves, and how that carbon can be buried in soils both improving fertility and removing atmospheric carbon.
Seattle organic farm and permaculture master Laura Sweany will describe and discuss the Community Orchard of West Seattle project and the Puget Ridge Edible Park (PREP) project, two local projects producing food through community-applied permaculture techniques.
As always, questions and dialog are an intrinsic element of our forums so come with your questions and ideas.
Arrive at 6:30 pm and bring food to share and join us in our pre-forum social half-hour.
