Sustainable NE Seattle Hosts Hands-On Workshops

In partnership with Ravenna Eckstein and Meadowbrook Community Centers, Sustainable NESeattle is organizing a fun day of hands-on-workshops to learn the skills your grandparents knew.

The two community centers have day-long schedules on Saturday, Feb 12:

  • 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, family-friendly skills workshops;
  • 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm, a community potluck;
  • 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm square dance

Come to either Ravenna-Eckstein or Meadowbrook Community Centers to learn a variety of practical skills with hands-on demos, such as

  • grinding grain
  • baking bread
  • knitting
  • food preservation
  • building compost and worm bins
  • building fireless and solar cookers
  • re-purposing clothes and materials
  • fruit tree pruning and grafting
  • tool repair and sharpening

Then join neighbors at Meadowbrook Community Center for a potluck and square dance with live music by The Tall Boys.
