Annual Winter Celebration Potluck – FRI DEC 10 Duwamish Longhouse

In keeping with a new SWS tradition, Friday December 10 will be our annual Winter Celebration Potluck at the Duwamish Longhouse. Join friends, neighbors and colleagues to enjoy great Food, Music (The Starlings and Moe Provencher), Dancing and Door Prizes.

Please be sure to use the Parks Department lot to the North at 4209 W Marginal Way SW, and carpool if you can. (Take our free shuttle, or just walk the couple blocks South to the Longhouse).  Details are in this aerial map.

If you are interested in volunteering at the event, please contact Christina Hahs at christina.hahs@gmail.com.

Take advantage of  opportunity to learn more about the Duwamish Tribe and mingle with members of our partner organizations (Solar Washington, DNDA, Northwest EcoBuilding Guild and DRCC).

The Longhouse is also the tribal museum for the Duwamish Tribe and there is plenty to see, read and learn in their longhouse so come join us!

The Duwamish Longhouse is on West Marginal Way and is – alas – not accessible by public transit. Carpooling is recommended as there is scant parking at the Longhouse, though there is additional parking across the street and north at the T-105 Port of Seattle public park.

We will be running a shuttle (courtesy of Mountain2Sound Outfitters!) between the Park Department lot about 1/5 mile to the North, check out the aerial map for details. PLEASE USE THIS LOT instead of trying to park in the Longhouse lot, which we are reserving for elderly and the disabled as much as possible.

Hi, I would love to come but I need a ride (didn’t make it last year because I didn’t have a ride). What about a place to sign up for car pools–both riders and willing drivers.

This comment area is a good place to look for a carpool. Some day when we have enough resources, we’d like to have something like that built into the SWS site itself. I’ll look around and see if there’s another free service we can use in the meantime.
