5th Annual Seattle Green Day – Nov. 6, 2010

On November 6th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm the 5th Annual Green Seattle Day will take place in 14 parks throughout Seattle. This annual event is the kick off to the planting season and is a celebration of our neighborhood parks and committed neighbors.

1,000 volunteers are expected to spend the day planting native trees and shrubs and removing invasive weeds. Volunteers interested in participating in the day can learn more and register at www.GreenSeattle.org

Without a coordinated effort, Seattle is at risk of losing 70% of its forests in just 20 years. The Green Seattle Partnership is reversing the trend by mobilizing thousands of volunteers to restore 2,500 acres by 2025.
