Swedish Automotive Open House Features Green Features

Swedish Automotive, a local West Seattle business, is hosting an open house for their new facility at 7901 35th Avenue SW, at the corner of SW Kenyon St. and 35th Ave., literally across the street from Kenyon Hall.

Swedish Automotive co-owner, Dave Winters, has said that he worked hard with the architects and builders to make the new facility as green as possible.  The structure is designed with a very high sustainability factor including re-use of changed-out oil as the fuel for the facility heater and the use of native plants for ground-water absorption.  Other sustainable features include capturing exhaust fumes as cars are being worked on and a roof structure which will support solar electric panels at some time in the future.

The open house will start at 12:00 noon and end at 4:00 pm.  The open house will also feature The Shed Boys, a Blue Grass band, and a display of classic Volvos and Saabs and food from local caterer Down Home Catering.
