Seminar on Honeybee Genetics, Health & Queen Rearing

Puget Sound Beekeeping Association is excited to present a day of learning from Susan Cobey, honeybee researcher from the University of California-Davis.  Susan is an acknowledged world expert in the field of honeybee breeding with over 30 years experience in establishing and managing a closed population breeding program.  Susan has developed techniques and equipment for the field of instrumental insemination of honeybees. She will also be discussing honeybee health – including information about colony collapse disorder (CCD) and the short and long-term approaches to maintaining honeybee health.

  • 3:40 – 4:30: Questions & Discussion
